May Day Celebrated in China's Space Sector!
Various space entities joined in the celebrations for International Workers’ Day.
May 1st is International Workers’ Day, often shortened to May Day, and is celebrated by almost every country on Earth by over eight billion workers. China celebrates May Day too, with a five-day holiday. During the holiday, families reunite while enjoying music, sports, and cultural heritage activities, while cities host festivals, outdoor concerts, and various markets. A travel boom also occurs for the five days to accommodate the movement of hundreds of millions of people.
To celebrate May Day, the various space companies and agencies of China shared posters online in celebration. Like with the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节), the New Year, 75th National Day (国庆节), and Spring Festival (春节), almost all of these posters were solely shared on Chinese social media platforms, such as Weibo and WeChat. Due to this, I’ve compiled them all here with links back to the original posts, or where they were found. (If you have found one that I didn’t include please do reach out).
Instead of sharing a poster for May Day, the China Manned Space Agency opted to share a recaped of the Shenzhou-19 crews time in space, showcasing what Cai Xuzhe, Wang Haoze, and Song Lingdong were up to while onboard the Tiangong Space Station for 182 days.
